In this Barbie batik collection, Mattel collaborates with Iwan Tirta Private Collection as a local Indonesian batik fashion designer.

Barbie's collection in batik dress, a result of Mattel's collaboration with Iwan Tirta Private Collection, is named Barbie Batik Kirana.

The word "Kirana" has the meaning of light. The use of the name Kirana as a Barbie collection name using batik clothing is expected to be an inspiration for children.


Batik is one of the cultures of Indonesia. The use of batik in Barbie doll clothes aims to introduce Indonesian culture to children from an early age.


Barbie Kirana is an exclusive collection of Indonesian Barbies. This collection consists of two choices of dolls. The difference from this Barbie Kirana collection lies in the style of clothing and batik patterns used.


The first choice is a Barbie doll with ethnic nuances that can be seen from the skirt used, namely Kawung Manis batik with sleeveless white tops.


The second barbie doll in this edition looks more modern than the first choice that is a barbie in a black dress by using a batik motif of Sawunggaling Latar Kopi Pecah at the bottom.


From ideas, raw materials to the Barbie Kirana production process originated and carried out in Indonesia. Kirana Barbie products are also only sale in Indonesia.


Barbie using batik clothing or called Barbie Kirana was launched right at the National Batik Day celebration by the Minister of Industry.
